For the photographic art exhibition hiroshima which opened October 13, 2011, UBC MOA asked us to assist with gallery graphic design. In the words of curator Karen Duffek, “the… images are at once anonymous and painfully intimate, disturbing in their beauty. They hover between timelessness and the weight of history they continue to hold.” Working with MOA curatorial staff and the artist, Ishiuchi Miyako, we attempted to capture this quality of hovering—developing an ephemeral colour and typography palette for banners and wall labels within the lovely Audain Gallery.
