The Kwantlen Polytechnic University executive office project is located at the Langley satellite campus. The existing executive offices are being relocated to the Langley Campus to alleviate space restrictions in the Surrey Newton Campus.
The design of the project was conceived as an open plan administrative space wrapped with private office spaces.
The renovation to an existing building meant that the design needed to be malleable to adapt to the existing structure of the building. Floor to ceiling birch millwork is used to create the infill partitions of the private offices, and the centrally located administration space is highlighted with an exposed birch ceiling treatment creating an open and warm atmosphere within the space.
The redesign of the existing space was highly controlled due to the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM), enabling the design to integrate seamlessly with the existing building infrastructure and proceed on a fast track schedule.
